Day 1: Arrive in Entebbe, Uganda – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On arrival in Entebbe or at your Kampala hotel, your driver guide will welcome you, and after a short briefing, you will embark on your journey towards the south-western region of the country to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Stopover in Mbarara for lunch.

Arrive at your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park | Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, you will be taken to the park headquarters for a short but important briefing from the park rangers and guides, after which you will be allocated the gorilla family to visit. Enter the forest and start your trek (please note that a drive to the starting point of your trek may be required).

Coming up close to endangered Mountain Gorillas in the forests of Uganda is a thrilling lifetime experience that surely ranks on most people’s travel bucket lists. Trekking at a high altitude through dense forests and up steep terrain can be challenging, especially in the African heat, but the hour you get to spend with these gentle giants is worth every step.

Only 8 guests may visit one gorilla family at a time. One trek per day/ family.

Gorilla Tracking is managed fully by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, with a head ranger, security personnel (who are armed as a precaution against wildlife, among others), and trackers, with optional porters, who walk with the guests until a family is located. Once the gorillas are found, the rangers only take the guests closer to the gorillas, and your viewing time commences, which is one hour.

Porters – they are from the local communities, rotated for revenue sharing, which goes directly to them. Recommended at least 1 per person for trekking. Fees are usually additional to your tour and paid directly.

Included: Gorilla Tracking

Day 3: Bwindi – Kampala

After a relaxed breakfast, embark on your journey to Kampala. It is a long drive and therefore, you will make several stopovers to relax and stretch your legs.

Day 4: Whitewater rafting

After breakfast, transfer to Jinja, dubbed the Adventure City of East Africa, where a stunning activity awaits you. Arrive in Jinja for a safety briefing followed by half- or full-day rafting through class 3–5 rapids. Evening return to accommodation in Jinja or Kampala.

Included: White water rafting

Day 5: Kampala City Tour

Morning at leisure or go for a half-day Kampala City Tour to explore the city highlights and other iconic places. Some of the places you will explore include the historical sites, markets, and art galleries.

Depending on the time for your flight, your driver guide will drop you off at the airport.

Optional: City tour
