Coming up close to endangered Mountain Gorillas in the forests of Uganda is a thrilling lifetime experience that surely ranks on most people’s travel bucket lists. Trekking at a high altitude through dense forests and up steep terrain can be challenging, especially in the African heat, but the hour you get to spend with these gentle giants is worth every step.
Only 8 guests may visit one gorilla family at a time. One trek per day/ family.
Gorilla Tracking is managed fully by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, with a head ranger, security personnel (who are armed as a precaution against wildlife, among others), and trackers, with optional porters, who walk with the guests until a family is located. Once the gorillas are found, the rangers only take the guests closer to the gorillas, and your viewing time commences, which is one hour.
Porters – they are from the local communities, rotated for revenue sharing, which goes directly to them. Recommended at least 1 per person for trekking. Fees are usually additional to your tour and paid directly.
Included: Gorilla trekking.
After a relaxed breakfast, you will do a game drive as you exit the park with awesome memories. Your driver guide will drop you off at the agreed point or at the airport.

I found the service and response of this travel agency to be excellent. Easily 5-stars. The Travel guide, who doubled as a driver too, was time conscious and a great advisor when it came to planning and managing our time, since we were travelling from Gulu through the parkThis tour was over-the-top fantastic, Our guide/Driver-Arafat, spoke fluent English that was clear, this made the tour "standard." He was also very knowledgeable about the different animal species, and explained in detail, that was excellent Arafat was friendly and courteous, and he consistently slowed down just to explain and give more information about the animals and giving us enough time to take pictures and videos! making it a very enjoyable tour And, I'd do it again "for the experience."Date of experience: March 2023Posted on Franziska73211 October 2022Verified Amazing Experience with a great team!
